Introduction

The use of timbers in furniture, construction site and interior decoration has destroyed our forest badly in the last decades. How to reduce logging to preserve the forests become the most important environmental issues today. Artificial board such as plywood, particle boards etc. seems to resolve the problems, but the emission of benzene and formaldehyde had limited their development. PVC as a substitute of timber is the new solution in this century.

PVC foam board possesses remarkable characteristics of light-weight, flame retarded, strong, water repellant and chemical resistance. It is a perfect substitution of timber but will not warp, swell or decay in wet area. The board is manufactured to ISO 9001 quality management system and has obtained the Green Label Award issued by National Environmental Protection Bureau.

Description

PVC foam board comprises of PVC resin, foaming agent, stabilizers, lubricants, plasticizers, fillers, impact modifiers, pigments and other additives. The ingredients are thoroughly mixed in the mixer and delivered to a silo from which they are produced by an advanced patented technique employing co-extrusion and foam technology. Depending on the content of plasticizers, the finished product may be a foam board (>10%) or a rigid board when the plasticizer is less than 5%.

PVC foam board is impermeable to water and is acid/alkali resistance. Moisture will not cause leaching or efflorescence and has no permanent effect on the board. The surface hardness of PVC foam board is excellent when compared to timber and its compressive strength is 1.7 times of traditional timber. Depending on the pigment and pressing machine, PVC board comes with different colors and patterns only limited by the imagination of the designer.

PVC foam board is light weight but strong. The board contains no formaldehyde and is a green product which can be recycled. The board is easy to work with by traditional wood working machine such as drilling, nailing, screwing, planning and grinding and can be decorated by painting, printing and film covering.
